Canon EDSDK
Also known as EOS Digital SDK, Canon SDK. Category: Software
The Canon EOS Digital SDK (EDSDK) is Canon's software development kit for controlling EOS cameras from a computer over a wired USB connection: settings, capture, live view and image transfer. Its counterpart CCAPI (Camera Control API) provides similar control wirelessly.
How PhotoRobot uses it
PhotoRobot controls Canon cameras directly through the Canon SDK: settings, shutter, image transfer and editing. Its compatible camera list follows the Canon EOS SDK (v13.x). Other brands are supported as third-party cameras fired by cable, with photos transferred to a watched folder; native support for Nikon cameras has ended.
